Asians Rap, Too.

The last time there was any buzz about an Asian on the hip hop scene was when Jin tha MC took BET’s 106 and Park by storm and dominated the freestyling game.

Unfortunately, his 15 minutes of fame quickly fizzed out after some hyped freestyle battles and a cameo in the second Fast and the Furious. It became painstakingly clear that the well-versed lyricist was meant for battling and not the studio.

Jackie Chain (yes, Chain) might be the next to take a stab at proving yellow people can rap, too. The self-proclaimed “Mr. VIP” hails from Huntsville, AL and you can immediately tell. He’s got the southern drawl like Paul Wall and lyrical references comparable to Big Boi.

That’s what JC is in every sense of the word. After he was kicked out of the house at age 16, he was living in a 5-bedroom house with a car just a month later. Unfortunately, he faced two years in prison for slinging and that’s where his hip hop careers finds its roots.

JC is now touring the Southeast and he’s creating quite a name for himself. He recently remixed Rollin‘ with Kid Cudi and together, they made it onto the new 10XDEEP mixtape, The New Deal. Click HERE to download the mixtape.

Tracklist after the jump.
