Tyga – G-Shit (Ft. Chris Brown). Download HERE.

These two 20-year-olds must have the freshest fake IDs in the business. Put those solo cups down, kids. Especially you, CB.

It simply warms our hearts when the East and West come together like this. Virginia-born Chris Brown links up with Compton-bred Tyga for the track/video above.

This is most definitely a summer jam, ladies and gentlemen. We’ll be sure to bump it while we’re at Yacht Week.

Note: Taz Arnold’s fashion label Ti$a Vi$ion is getting a lot of noticeable exposure as of late. You’ll notice Chris Brown rocking the white vintage Adidas jacket in the video above.

Ever wonder why all of these musicians were getting THIS embroidered on their clothes? (i.e. Big Sean, Diggy Simmons)

Blame Taz.

We really hope you have on a robe and are sipping on a glass of daddy’s finest cognac … because this is the definition of “Grown & Sexy.”

G&S, ladies and gentlemen. Ray Kay may have just sprout his first chest hairs listening to this track.

The song itself actually dropped about a year ago. Now, you get to enjoy a montage of two of your favorite Candian artists to accompany the track. Not bad, eh?

To be honest, we don’t find ourselves posting material from Canadians on the blog too often. But when we do, we’re always damn happy that we did.

Mr. Hudson – There Will Be Tears (Video).
April 9, 2009

Employing warped and distorted visuals, much like he did in Kanye’s Welcome to Heartbreak video, Nabil Elderkin adds a dose of visual brilliance to Mr. Hudson’s “There Will Be Tears.”

The song will be the first single off his upcoming album Straight No Chaser.

Expect the album to drop sometime this summer, but in the meantime enjoy the Englishman’s lovely blonde locks and autotune-infused melodies …

Both which are featured in the video.

Dyme Def- Put The Beat In A Sling.
April 6, 2009

Dyme Def- PutTheBeatInASling. Download HERE.

As promised, here’s more music and background on the Seattle trio Dyme Def.

The group consists of three kids, Fierce VII, S.E.V, and Brainstorm, who have rapping together for almost a decade.  The majority of their production comes from Seattle vet BeanOne … and this track is no exception.

All members are at the ripe age of 23, and already have two albums under their belts: Space Music and 3BadBrothers. Both are available on iTunes.

The group is currently working on a new EP, titled EP-1 Panic. It features the song “PickUpYaFlow” (featuring Saigon), which is going to be released on April 25th along with the video that they just finished shooting.

DD will be starting a west coast tour with Saigon in about month and will make it out to the east coast to spread their sound by the end of June.

Keep it locked for more on this overlooked and highly talented trio from the other Washington.

Shouts to Josh at 800lb. Music Collective for the insight.

Hit the jump for a little side project by Brainstorm.

ArtOfficial – In Your City Promo Video

Well, we’ve been steadily watching this band for a while and we’re going to go out on a limb and say that these guys, might end up being the Latino version of The Roots.

That’s right.  We said it.

Check out this Jazz/Hip Hop group from Miami that’s going to be coming out with a mixtape with illroots in the near future.

They’ve been praised for their amazing performance that would have you telling your friends you work on Friday nights because you don’t want them to realize that this is the 6th time your gonna see ArtOfficial.

If you don’t trust us, we should let you know how hurt we feel and hook up with your best friend, but instead, you can just check out a sample song below.

Watch the promo video (Like a Boss), download the album (HERE, Like a boss), and enjoy (Like a boss).

The Lonely Island ft. Seth Rogan – Like A Boss (Video).
April 5, 2009

Seth Rogan lends his face to the uncensored video for The Lonely Island’s newest single from their album Incredibad.

It’s clearly making fun of the many songs where rappers claim to “be the boss.”  While this one doesn’t quite live up to “Jizz in My Pants” or “I’m on a Boat …”  it’s still pretty funny, none the less.

GLC feat. Kanye West- Big Screen (Video).
March 29, 2009

GLC and Kanye release a video for “Big Screens” which will be featured on GLC’s upcoming album Love, Life and Loyalty. If you arn’t fortunate enough to have this song in your music library already do yourself a favor and download it HERE.

If you’re wondering why the two are rocking a 1930s wardrobe and why there are some shots of baseball footage, it’s because the song will also be featured as the first single off the benefit compilation for the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, True To The Game.

Good song, good video, but what else do you expect from the G.O.O.D music family.

Asher Roth- Lark on My Go Kart (Official Video).
March 29, 2009

There is really no need to continue updating you on Mr. Roth as he is now officially plastered all over MTV and the likes, but it’s a slow weekend so what the hell.

Ash accompanies the first single from his debut album, you should know the title and release date by now, ‘Lark on My Go Kart.”  The video in full animation that comes across as a combination between an R-rated Disney movie and an N64 game, but what else would you expect.

Making ridiculous music videos isn’t going to stop those Eminem comparisons anytime soon (see: “Just Lose It).

Pacific Division – Shut Up.
March 25, 2009

Pacific Division – Shut Up. Download HERE.

These three guys are some of the best dressed artists in the game right now … and it’s time you try them on for size.

Meet Pacific Division. A trio consisting of two brothers, Like and Mibbs, and their friend BeYoung. They call Palmdale, CA (just north of LA) home and they’re quickly building up an undeniable buzz.

Don’t expect your everyday west coast gangsta rap from Pac Div.

These three grew up with normal jobs and don’t necessarily think glocks and bricks are the end all be all. They have a new definition for “cool.”

People like to label us as “backpack”, because anything that is not gangsta out here is thought of as backpack [rap]. We really don’t like that label. We are just here doing music that’s us. We call it life-music because it’s music to live to.

After graduating high school back in ’01, Pacific Division dropped everything to pursue a career in hip hop.

Luckily, it paid off as the group found itself receiving nods of approval from the likes of Pharrell and ?uestlove, and even pulled off a shout out from Snoop on one of his tracks.

Pac Div’s initial success and recognition can be attributed to The Blend Tape (download HERE), their first mixtape filled with witty tracks about day jobs and chasing girls (on a budget).

Like what you hear? Check out some more music and videos after the jump.

2) How High? is a great movie.

3) “Da Rockwilder” was the shit back in the day.

4) Posthumous respect to Pimp C?

John Forte- Runnin Up That Hill Remix (Video).

John Forte- Runnin Up That Hill Remix

Back on the music grind once again, after having his 14 year prison sentence for cocaine possesion commuted by W. (I know right?), John Forte remixes Kate Bush’s 1985 track “Runnin Up That Hill.”

There was a bit of controversy after Bush commuted his sentence, but Forte shows some love to the former President:

I am grateful and humbled by President Bush’s forgiveness of my stupid and reckless behavior.

Forte is undoubtedly remorseful for his actions that led him to spend 7 years in prison, and he used that time to reflect on his life and used his experiences has inspiration for this and other songs:

The deepest pain of any time spent in prison is the internal suffering one must endure, the state of constant longing for life, liberty, and loved ones. Some men and women learn their lessons long before they ever go to prison.

Regardless, it’s good to see the man back out making good music, as he was once a Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter and producer, and is making the most of his second chance.

AB the Producer feat. X.O., Pro’verb and Lyriciss- Go Hard (Video)
March 13, 2009

We introduced you to and brought you the newest mixtape of A.B the Producer a week or so ago, and this song, featuring all DMV artists, was on the IllVibes presents Music  I Wish Was On the Radio Vol. 2 mixtape we put up a couple of days ago.

The song is a DMV banger, and underscores the point that we have been trying to make for the past couple of months that the DMV is a hotbed of hip-hop right now and there are scores of dope artists from the area  not named Wale.

Enjoy, let us know what you think, and seriously watch out, because the DMV is about to blow up.  Ya dig?
