Tyga – G-Shit (Ft. Chris Brown).

Tyga – G-Shit (Ft. Chris Brown). Download HERE.

These two 20-year-olds must have the freshest fake IDs in the business. Put those solo cups down, kids. Especially you, CB.

It simply warms our hearts when the East and West come together like this. Virginia-born Chris Brown links up with Compton-bred Tyga for the track/video above.

This is most definitely a summer jam, ladies and gentlemen. We’ll be sure to bump it while we’re at Yacht Week.

Note: Taz Arnold’s fashion label Ti$a Vi$ion is getting a lot of noticeable exposure as of late. You’ll notice Chris Brown rocking the white vintage Adidas jacket in the video above.

Ever wonder why all of these musicians were getting THIS embroidered on their clothes? (i.e. Big Sean, Diggy Simmons)

Blame Taz.

Big Sean- UKNOWBIGSEAN (Mixtape).
April 20, 2009

Don’t know about you, but we have been waiting for Big Sean to drop this mixtape for a while now.  And in the slight oversight, missed the fact that it actually did drop when we leaked two tracks the other day. Download HERE.

Might as well go right to the source for the download, http://www.uknowbigsean.com, not to mention we’re all a little lazy at times.

The Dirty D native is really starting to make a name for himself.  He’s got the talent.  Oh and its not such a bad thing to have Kanye and Mike Posner in your corner either.

Sean hits you with some full versions of snippets that were on his Finally Famous mixtape, as well as some Matter of Time stuff, but no worries, the tape is 30 tracks long.

If he has that much lying around the studio, we can’t wait for the debut album to hit stores, sooner rather than later.

Big Sean feat. Dusty McFly- Iraq

Kanye Forgets Lyrics at SXSW Concert.
March 26, 2009

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Kanye West is human.

I hope we’re not he first ones to break you the news … but we may be the first ones to show you the evidence.

Above, you’ll find Ye forgetting the lyrics a number of times while performing “Good Life” at the Fader x Levi’s tent at SXSW. After a failed attempt at a quick series of ad libs, the Chicago rapper turns to his entourage for help.

A man behind the DJ booth tries to feed Yeezy the lyrics and then all of the G.O.O.D. Music artists (i.e. Kid Cudi, Consequence, Big Sean) storm the stage to help out their boss.

And you thought all entourages did was wear huge pieces of jewelry and maintain a stink face all day.

Music I Wish Was on the Radio Vol. 2 (Mixtape).
March 11, 2009

The good people over at illvibes.com share the sentiments of many of us and feel that, in general, the music that gets the most radio play is pretty much garbage.

There is no doubt that there are a multitude of artists putting out great music that goes unrecognized by the general public, and is essentially ignored by the major radio stations, whereever you may live.  (DMV readers don’t see: 93.9, 95.5, and especially 99.5)

Now I [illvibes] released “Music I Wish Was on the Radio Volume 1” cause I feel like I had to get out good music out and Volume 2 flows off that same sentiment. There is real music out there and it needs to be discovered.

To fill this void, Illvibes put together Music I Wish Was on the Radio Vol. 1 and 2. Download Vol.1 HERE and Vol. 2 HERE.

If you follow this site and many others you may have heard some of these tracks, but as a collection they definitely represent the good music that is out there right now, and feature artists and songs that are must to give any iTunes library validity.

Listen to a couple songs from Vol. 2 and make sure to give the full mixtape a listen.  It will not disappoint. Full tracklist after the jump.

February 28, 2009

Lately, Mike Posner hasn’t gone more than two days without having a post about him on Knowthisbynow.com.

Maybe it’s because we’re highly anticipating his album, A Matter of Time, coming out on March 1st (tomorrow).

For those of you who are going to complain about not having money because the reccession and blah blah, that’s still no excuse; his album is free, son.

Just listen to this new song featuring Big Sean, Donnis, and Jackie Chain then, click HERE for more Mike Posner.

What we are doing is bringing you the full version of “Million Dollars” previously released only as a 1:43 snippet on his Finallly Famous Vol. 1 mixtape. It’s not even really that long because at the end Sean tickles your balls fans by saying:

Royce Da 5’9″- Part of Me (Video).
February 16, 2009

Royce Da 5’9″- Part of Me. Download HERE.

We bring to you the official video for Royce’s track “Part of Me,” of his much anticipated solo album Street Hop, set for release on April 21st.

The video is directed by Rik Cordero, who has seemingly done work for every major artist out there, and has been called “the only hip-hop director on the planet,” and his videos described as “miracles.”

The state of Michigan is making moves this year, with Detroit rapper’s Big Sean, Eminem, and Royce all set to release albums.  Along with the fire cooking in the DMV area, and as always Chicago, 2009 is shaping up to be a good year.

Big Sean in the Studio with Pharrell.
February 15, 2009

Pharrell and Big Sean spend some time in the studio talking about Sean’s upcoming debut album Finally Famous expected to drop this Spring.

Of course, Charles Hamilton makes a requisite appearance and opens his mouth to give the album “his co-sign.”

With all the buzz swarming around KiD CuDi, Drake, and the aforementioned Charles Hamilton lately, Big Sean, also a member of the G.O.O.D music family, has been getting less and less attention.

Big Sean is one of a slew of artists who are about to blow up G.O.O.D music, with Cudders, Consequence, and others all coming out with albums soon.

In case you haven’t copped it yet, download Finally Famous Vol. 1: The Mixtape, HERE.

Teriyaki Boyz – Teriya-King (ft. Kanye West & Big Sean).

Teriyaki Boyz – Teriya-King (ft. Kanye West & Big Sean). Download HERE.

The TBz and G.O.O.D. music have teamed up to stir up a new kind of beef. (Remember productions credits don’t go to Kanye West, but to Martin Louie the King Jr.)

The Teriyaki Boyz haven’t had as much exposure over here in the U.S. as they’ve been getting over in Japan.

In fact, the last time they released anything on vinyl here was through The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift soundtrack. (Shot out to Sung Kang!)

Founded by Nigo (the man behind Bape and co-conspirator of BBC/Ice Cream),  the Teriyaki Boyz helped to popularize hip hop over in Japan. Well … that was with a lot of help from Pharrell.

Their debut album, BEEF OR CHICKEN?, had no choice but to succeed. With production and collabs with the likes of Daft Punk, DJ Premier, DJ Shadow, Mark Ronson, Just Blaze, etc … it’s hard to fail.

The groups about to drop their second album. Serious Japanese.

So. Thoughts?

What do Duke University and recently signed G.O.O.D. music man, Big Sean, have in common?

Ladies and gentlemen, we bring you Mike Posner and the Brain Trust.

Made up of three students from Duke University, Mike Posner and the Brain Trust are poised to do big things in ’09.

Utilizing the pop/hip-hop hybrid sound that we’ve all become so accustomed to, Mike Posner and the Brain Trust has developed a refreshing and mellow sound that was most recently featured in Big Sean’s new single “Who Knows.”

It seems the love between these two is mutual because Big Sean just threw a verse Mike Posner and the Brain Trust’s way on their song “Cooler Than Me.”

Mike Posner and the Brain Trust are expected to drop a mixtape, Underage Thinking, in March, followed by a full-length album entitled The New Deal.

Below is a preview of what’s to come from Mike Posner and the Brain Trust later this year.

Yes. Yes. Yes.

Here’s a leak off of Big Sean’s soon-to-drop mixtape entitled UKNOWBIGSEAN.

The newest addition to Kanye’s G.O.O.D. music was actually hospitalized the day before his release party for Finally Famous Vol. 2 in Chicago.

Audience members were told right before the planned performance.

While Big Sean had promised his fans that he would sneak out of the hospital in time for the performance, the doctors weren’t having it.

He’s expected to make a full recovery.

Get well soon, Big Sean.

Meet the latest addition to Kanye West’s label G.O.O.D. Music (Getting Out Our Dreams Music).

Picture this: You’re given the chance to battle rap some kids at your local radio station. It just so happens that Kanye West is in the same building. With a lot of pushing and nudging, your friend convinces you to walk up to Kanye West and freestyle for him.

For one reason or another, Kanye West agrees to give you 30 seconds of his time and demands that you drop 16 on the spot. Well … 16 turns into 100 and it looks like Kanye West likes what he hears and invites you to the Late Registration listening party.

A year later, you’re signed to his label G.O.O.D. Music (Getting Out Our Dreams Music).

I was just rapping and rapping and when he got to the entrance he stopped and looked at me. I looked at the ground because I didn’t wanna get nervous and mess up.

Not bad, right?

Ever since he was signed, Big Sean (born “Sean Anderson”) has released singles with Kanye West, landed in the the new Bape winter lookbook and globetrotted the world to promote his debut album Finally Famous. Expected to drop in Spring of ’09, the album will feature everyone from Pharrell to The Dream.

Download his latest mixtape, Finally Famous: The Mixtape, HERE. (Right click and press “save link as” once you’re on the zSHARE site.) Tracklist after the jump.
