Mos Def x UNDRCRWN.

One of Brooklyn’s finest + One of the hottest clothing labels in the game = ?

For those of you who aren’t keen on math, we’ve provided a video to explain.

Even if you’re not quite Good Will Hunting, it’s no secret that Mos Def is always dressed to impress. That’s why UNDRCRWN asked him to design a line completely influenced by and focused on the Brooklyn MC.

You can expect a variety of varsity jackets, t-shirts and fitteds. Fans will be quick to notice that Mos’ favorite colors (red, green and black) take center stage in many of the designs.

You should know this by now.

K’Naan feat. Mos Def & Chali 2na- America.

The internet is a wonderful thing, but one of its downfalls, for artists at least, is the inevitable early release of highly anticipated albums.  It happened to Ryan Leslie and it has happened to K’nann.  Can’t a Somalian man make a dollar?

We all love album leaks because we get to listen to otherwise unavailable material early.  But in this case, and with artists like K’naan and Tabi Bonney, if you copped the leak, do the right thing and buy the damn thing next Tuesday.

The real lyricists and up-and-comers that are here to save hip-hop are the one’s who need your support the most, so download as much 50 and Ross as you want, but break open the piggy bank and get together $10 bucks to buy Troubadour on the 24th.

Regardless, for you early listening enjoyment, here’s one last track from the album.

PS – We have a really funny picture of a young Ray Kay cheesin’ it with 2NA … Future post?

Pittsburgh Slim – My Bitch Is Crazy Video.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Pittsburgh Slim – My Bitch Is Crazy.

Here’s how you sign to Def Jam and have Jay-Z hand you a five album record deal:

Start off as a garage band with your high school buddies in Pittsburgh.

Then, split up with said group and move to LA and rough it by waiting tables like the other 800,000 “talented people trying to make it big.”

Lastly, write a song that revolves around the hook “I like when girls kiss girls” and you’re bound to be shaking Hova’s hand in no time.

Born to an Algerian father and part Mexican mother, that’s more or less how Sied Chahrour (more popularly known as Pittsburgh Slim) got his break into the music world.

Not bad, right?

According to Slim himself, his music is like listening to “Camp Lo, Nirvana, Mos Def, Beastie Boys, and Justin Timberlake … mixed in a blender.”

Judge for yourself. Above, we have the video for Slim’s “My Bitch Is Crazy” … which dropped today.

K’Naan.
December 19, 2008

We first discovered K’Naan when he opened up for Mos Def and Talib Kweli at DC’s 9:30 club years ago.

His entourage came out wielding traditional drums and a guitar. Our only response was “what the hell?”

K’Naan’s style is absolutely unique as he virtually combines every genre of music and still manages to keep it hip hop. His sophomore album, Troubador, is dropping January 13th.

Be sure to check out his song “Strugglin’.” That’s what made us fall in love with his music. Video after the jump.

But first, here’s his song “Somalia” off the soon-t0-be-released album.
