DJ Benzi x Dope Couture – The Jetsetters Mixtape.
March 3, 2009

With all the buzz surrounding Mike Posner and QuESt recently, this little gem slipped under the radar.

DJ Benzi (Sky High, New Deal Mixtape…) hooks up with Dope Couture to bring you The Jetsetters Mixtape, an obvious play on The Jetsons, as one look at the album cover will show you.

The mixtape is graced with a quintessential whos’ who in hip-hop right now, and while it includes some songs that we’ve previously featured, its also got some yet-to-be-heard jams.

Download the full mixtape HERE, and listen to two songs below featuring our boys Naledge, Donnis, and Chip tha Ripper.

Naledge feat. Vic Mensah- Mile High Club.

Naledge feat. Vic Mensah- Mile High Club. Download HERE.

We’ve been throwing a lot of Naledge at you lately, in part because he is quite ill, and also to prepare for the release of Brainiac Society: Attack of the Brainiac’s Vol. 3.

This track features the Braniac Society’s newest and youngest recruit, 15-year old rapper, Vic Mensah.  Not a bad gig, just hit puberty and be trading verses with one of Chicago’s better MCs.

On a related note, Kidz in the Hall (Naledge and Double-O) will be releasing a deluxe edition of their sophomore album, The In Crowd, tomorrow, which will feature two additional tracks, for those interested.

Naledge- I’m In Chicago Bitch.
February 18, 2009

Similar name. Same beat. Completely different artist.

Our man Naledge does his thing over LMFAO’s “I’m in Miami Bitch.”

Although the valedicotiran rips the track verbally, you do not get the exorbitant amount of ass and titties as seen in the LMFAO video.  It’s a small price to pay for some naledgable lyrics.

Naledge Interview on Vimby.
February 17, 2009

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Naledge spends some time underneath the El train in Chicago talking about his childhood, his name, and even throws some quick freestyles in to boot.

One thing to take away from this interview with the Kidz in the Hall member is: the dude is smart.

He skipped two grades in school, which is when in 6th grade he was graced with the nickname Naledge.  Not only that he graduated as valedictorian of his high school, although, he admits this may have been:

Because I am probably the best cheater there ever was.

Building on his name, Naledge is set to release Brainiac Soceity Vol. 3: Attack of the Brainiacs, which we have previously feautured a couple songs from.  In case you missed it, we offer you a review session below.

Donnis- What They Like.
January 28, 2009

“In any room lighting is the key.”  “I  bowled 8 strikes in a row on Nintendo Wii.”  “John Mayer is my favorite artist.”

These aren’t  statements you’d expect to hear from an Atlanta-born rapper, but Donnis isn’t ordinary.  Born in the outskirts of the ATL, the 20-year old moved to Tokyo, Japan during his teenage years.

It was in Tokyo that Donnis started to flourish as an artist.  He gained popularity as an opening act, but soon began performing shows of his own all over Japan.

Atlanta raised me. Tokyo made me a man. I will be famous for being myself.

Since returning to the States, Donnis has been featured on 1oXDeep’s The New Deal Mixtape, which we featured last month.

In addition, he will be performing at the SXSW Music Festival at the end of March.

His growing population of fans are anxiously awaiting the release his first mixtape titled Thank You (produced by DJ Benzi), expected to drop soon.

Take a listen to his most recent track below, and hop on the Donnis train before it leaves the station.

The mixtape is expected to drop in February so we will keep you posted as always.

Kidz in the Hall- Birdwalk Re-versed.
January 23, 2009

Kidz in the Hall – Birdwalk Reversed

Naledge and Double-O try and find a beat to rap over and settle on Soulja Boy’s “Birdwalk.”

Needless to say it’s much better than the original, but what wouldn’t be.
